I have been encoding my movies into DIVX and XVIX movie formats onto my TVIX movie player for over 4 years. On top of DVD Decrypter being gone and not being able to decrypt all the new discs, now AutoGK is gone too. I'll be the first to admit it! I'm addicted to ripping!!! It's so nice and conveniant to have all my movies on one portable hard drive player! It's so frustrating to not be able to do it with my new movies. I need it like a heroin addict! My new purchases (Madagascar, Stealth, and Bewitched) all seem to be lost causes. The work around using PGC Edit and VOB Blanker only works if the files are decrypted in file mode, which doesn't work in AutoGK. AHHHHH, I'm going crazy!!!

On top of all that, the new DIVX is now uncompatible with AutoGK. Though I do like XVID better, DIVX in my opinion hits the target file sizes WAY better for the majority of movies. I never have any variance in DIVX file sizes, where as about 1/3 of the XVID files I do are off by a few MB. It's seriously driving me MAD!! Has the DVD industry finally won? Has it come to the point where it has become so difficult to back up your own movies that it's simply not worth it?

DVD Decrypter and AutoGK are not "gone," thay have ceased development. There are many ways to decrypt newer ARccOS-encrypted disks, including some that utilize DVD Decrypter.

There is at least one version of DivX 6 that is compatible with AutoGK, which you can find out using the Search feature.
