I captured a 2hr video with VirtualVCR, just before I was about to stop capturing, I had a power outage that terminated the capture. Now my video file is corrupted and I've tried many "avi repair" software that DID NOT work. The properties show a 12.3GB avi file, the data exsists but no media player will play it, and no video repair software (that I tried) was able to fix it. Can anybody help me out or recommend an alternative way to play a corrupted video file.

I can't help, but I have a suggestion. Please reply and tell everyone what tools you've tried to use. It will help to eliminate blind alleys you have already been down.

Hi,
I use VIRTUALDUB to recover damaged avis. I open it, wait for index reconstruction and, after finished, do a direct stream copy of the part of the video virtualdub has recover (normally a part is lost).
Good luck.
