farhod-Welcome to the forum. Having Roxio and Nero installed simultaneously can be the kiss of death. I'd uninstall Roxio and give Nero a go on its own. Try that and post back if you're still having problems. I deleted your e-mail address because it's contrary to the aims of the Forum to provide one-on-one help. Run a few searches, as well, and see what jumps out at you.

jamesbond-Monoric? Is that some new Bondian lingo I'm not yet familiar with? If you meant moronic, take a look at the Forum Rules located at the top of any Forum page and you'll find that Rule 4 specifies how we're supposed to conduct ourselves while posting. Be nice, Newbies is where beginners come to get their feet wet, not their head knocked.

The only thing is with Nero when i burn them i burn the dvd as a Video dvd and everytime i burn it right before the dvd is done it says error something failed and says ur disc may not be playable do you still want to continue. but with roxio it just burns it with no problems but the disc wont play. So should i still uninstall roxio???

Uninstall one of them, I suggested using Nero because it's my burning app of choice. Others will offer different opinions, but the bottom line here is, don't have Nero and Roxio installed on the same OS at the same time. Your source may be your problem, not your burning app's, but this is one way of eliminating possible conflicts.

You say that Roxio will complete a burn, but the disc has nothing on it? Go to Start > My Computer and find the drive that has the freshly burned disc, then right-click it and select "Open" from the context menu. See what files are listed there and report back.

Also check this database for compatibility between your burner and the media you're using.
Burner/media compatibility (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdwriters)

Take a look at the Announcement at the top of the Newbies homepage and the Forum Rules (top of any page) and make sure not to bring us an issue we can't help you with. Other than that, supply as much information as you can.

Did you use the link to check on compatible media? Do you have any problem with the player recognizing factory DVD's? Did the completed disc that you created with Roxio play in one of your PC's software players before you tested it in the in-dash unit?

I'm not kidding about uninstalling one of your burning app's, Roxio and Nero are infamous for not "getting along". State whether or not you've done this in your next post. This may or may not be part of your problem, but if you uninstall one of them, then we'll know that the problem lies elsewhere and not have to guess if this conflict is in some way having a bearing on your issue.

ok i uninstalled roxio and yes i tested the disc and it worked with windows media player but i dont understand why it wont work on my indash tv. The specs say plays DVDs, DVD-Rs, DVD-RWs, CDs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs, and MP3 and WMA discs. With nero these are the steps for what i am doing tell me if im doing something wrong ok. first i select video dvd and then put the files and press burn..but in the beginning when i start nero it says Nero - Burning Rom has a known compatibility issue with this version of Windows. For an update that is compatible with this version of Windows, contact Ahead Software. maybe this is why?

farhod, now that you'e removed Roxio, you may also want to uninstall/reinstall Nero. It's been my guess that the compatibility problems arise from installation of Nero when Roxio is already in place.

ammck, it appears jamesbond has a history of random insulting posts, re:
burnin 2X media at 4x with DVR-106...is it possible ? (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=98528) and
WMV to DivX error (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=100692).

farhod--I did a little Googling, and apparently the media choices that your player will recognize are slim to none.

You say you "put" the files into Nero. What kind of files are you "putting"? Are you trying to do a straight disc-to-disc copy, or are you using some other type of source file?

Reinstall Nero and ignore that error message, then tell us what you come up against, next.

You obviously haven't done any homework - you're burning a data disk. You need to burn a video DVD-ROM, compatible with standalone players. There's more than enough information in all the various forums and guides here for you to do what you need, and I strongly suggest you spend a week reading and learning before you ask any more questions.

Ares is a P2P filesharing site. Take a look at the Forum Rules and the Announcement on the Newbies page and you'll find that we don't offer support for the conversion or backup of downloaded files.
