i have been using dvd decrypter and dvd shrink. i am able to burn the movies onto my blank dvd+rs but every dvd i burn i get glitches and freezing problems through out the movies. ive tried many different types of dvd+rs, im currently using sony dvd+r and it has seemed to have improved but ive also lowered my burning speed, and still hasnt changed. i think i know what the problem is but im not sure. I think my problem is that my secondary IDE device is in pio mode, but thats the only mode it has to offer

this is what my device manager says:

I have my primary IDE channel (decive 0 is at Ultra DMA mode 5 and my device 1 is not applicable) but both devices are set to DMA if avalible

now my secondary IDE channel (device 0 is at PIO mode and my device 1 is not applicable) but both devices are set to DMA if avalible

also does the buffer always have to stay at 100% or can it go from like 100% to like 93% (just an example)

so please if anyone can help me with this problem, please post me a message

thanx

chris--This is basically a rehash of this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=102492) that's currently still on the first page, but since you and I together made such a crapped up mess of it, we'll let this one ride. Here's a few tips that'll help you out a bunch.

You've already got the titles down...
When you get advice, especially from multiple respondents, take the time to address each piece of advice. If some of it's over your head, just say so and ask for more details. It's frustrating for everyone when you address one piece of advice and not others. These guys take the time to respond, so be courteous and take the time to let 'em know if their help worked for you, or not.
It never hurts to mention the searches you've run and the results, or confusion, this has created. If you link to a solid fix that you've found on your own, but don't know how to implement it, someone will bail you out on that one, too.
Don't open a new thread on the same topic, just supply a few more details and list some of the work you've done, and you'll get more. We've all been stuck so hard that we couldn't see the light of day. Everyone knows what this feels like....well, almost everyone.
Hang tough, if you keep after it and supply details when asked, you'll eventually get a fix. It may not be tonight, or tomorrow, but you will work your way through this mess and get on to some "easier" ripping....until the next "monster" arises. :)

1) How are you playing back the burned DVD's? Have you tried them on many different players to be sure it's the burn?
2) At what speed are you burning? What is the rated speed of your burner and media?
3) How exactly are you burning the DVD's (which program)?
4) Have you updated your burner's firmware?
5) Does the buffer ever drop to 0%?
6) Did you ever DEFRAG YOUR DRIVE as I suggested in your previous two posts on the same subject?
