Hi all,

I've just got into this DVD reauthoring business as I want to add and reposition subtitles in some of my DVDs. I'm using PGCdemux1204 and IFOedit096.

This worked brilliantly for one DVD, although the last 2 I've tried give extremely stuttered playback in WinDVD7. Playback of the same .vobs in VLC082 is smooth although VLC has problems displaying the subtitles. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Pete

IfoEdit 0.971 is the latest and has a fix for NTSC stuttering. But there are much better programs for authoring.

->mpucoder: what authoring programs would you suggest?

I too have been using ifoedit.096 and have experienced stuttering with some DVD's. I'm going to try .971 to see if the problem goes away.

I'm currently using dvd shrink to rip the dvd, ripping only the movie. I use vobedit to demux the VOBs into video/audio. I use ifoedit to get the celltimes. I use subrip to rip the subtitle. I use subtitle workshop to re-edit the subtitles. (translating them to italian). I use ifoedit to remux the m2v, wav,sup files. I use dvd shrink if necessary to fit the new movie to single-layer dvd-R. I use Nero-6 to burn the dvd.

Hi papadilbert,

I noticed last night that a DVD I had shrunk with DVD shrink 3.2(?) also had the stutter, without even touching it with pcgdemux or ifoedit. I'll have to go back and check it wasn't DVD shrink that introduced this in the first place, I suggest you do the same!
