Hello
here's my problem; I have installed of my computer anydvd.. and I don't know if it's since that moment or I hadn't noticed it before but dvd decrypter is not willing to make a iso of a cd disk, not a dvd.. whenever I insert a CD; dvd decrypter says "disk is not a dvd', in the past, i was able to make iso of CDs but not anymore; even if I go back to stpi; and disable anydvd it doesn't seem to function like it used to be.
thank you all for any possible answers

sincerely
Mario.

I fully agree.. I know other ways to make iso from cds, iso buster, winiso, magiciso, alcohol, but I was only wondering why from a certain moment on, i can't make iso from dvd decrypter while i was able to do it in the past with the same version; or maybe even older versions, I don't think that it was downgraded or was it?
thanks anyway...
sincerely.

@MarioGarcia

I'm fairly certain that no version of DVD Decrypter has ever processed CDs in any way...

I have copied CDs (ISO mode read/write, unprotected data CDs) with DVDD on computers without other burning programs installed. Very handy!

@GrofLuigi

Hi!

May I ask what version of DVD Decrypter you've used and with what settings?

@GrofLuigi

Hi!

May I ask what version of DVD Decrypter you've used and with what settings?

Few versions older than the latest (haven't actually tried on the latest). No special settings I can remember of...
...
I just stuck a CD in the drive for 3.5.4.0 and it didn't allow me to copy it. I haven't noticed this before! :o

Indeed a change in functionality... But no way I'm going back to older version. :D

I'm thinking that you folks are talking about something other than DVD Decrypter.

Are you possibly thinking about taking ALREADY-EXISTING .ISOs ON YOUR HARD DRIVE and only "Writing as .ISO"?

I've checked as far back as v.3.12 (Aug 2002) and I don't see any version that will process a CD for input in any way...

There used to be an option (way way way back) to ignore 'disc not dvd'. This was meant for DAEMON Tools, not to allow people to read CDs.

I removed it when I added support for MDS files.

i have seen dvd decrypter create a mds file since I have been ripping DVD.. even when it still supported cd to iso output..
thank you for clearing that up, i just needed to know it was not my anydvd that was screwing the whole thing.
I'll use something else

It has never officially supported CD ISO creation.

IF you happened to have a very weird drive (and probably just a CD-ROM/R/RW drive) that gave out rubbish when queried for certain info... maybe, just maybe it would have let you read a CD to an ISO. I guess it could also have been a bug that got fixed in later versions... but I don't remember ever hearing about such a thing.

Otherwise, sorry but your imagination is running wild!

@LIGHTNING UK!

Thanks for confirming the accuracy of my postings to this thread. I was beginning to suspect that I had developed yet another "loose screw" ;>}

u wanna make an iso of a cd id suggest alcohol 120% good investment.
installed trial of alcohol 120 % output to iso is not supported, you can output to ccd, cue and mds.. not iso.

@lighting UK

thank you for your assertion, very much appreciated.

You can use MagicISO ISO creator (http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-overview.htm) to create iso image from cd. It works fine for me.

an iso is not a proper format for an audio cd, ever. a bin, cue combination is indeed what you want. i store mine in wav, cue and ape, cue combinations, using exact audio copy. but never have i created an iso for an audio cd. and so you know you can mount a cue file with daemon tools, and burn them with burrrrn...
