hi there,

I use dvd shrink and dvd decrypter to rip, my media is FUJI 8x DVD-R printable from a 50 cake, and my burner is a Plextor PX-716SA. i burn at 8x speed from ISO's crated by dvd shrink.

I have backed up many movies, but some of them freezes halfway or near the end. Also sometimes they play and some other they don't, the ISO files are at good shape.

All the settings still default on both programs, I use Roxio Disc copier and sometimes I use Nero.

Any suggestions to perform cleaner backups and more compatible ones ?

@ciclone

Hi!

Is it only one particular PLAYER that exhibits this problematic behaviour with these specific burned discs?

i have tried both 4x and 2x speeds, also tried diferent media but the error still randomly.

My DVD standalone player is a Sony DVP-NS725P, but it can play 99% of them, the problem increases in other dvd players, my mom's (APEX) and my brother's (cyberhome) to mention some.

First of all, Roxio and NERO cannot peacefully co-exist on one system. I'd suggest you Uninstall the Roxio software.

Second, since you're creating .ISO image files in DVD Shrink (and have DVD Decrypter), you can simply set DVD Shrink to ".ISO image file and burn with DVD Decrypter" (From "Select backup target", after you've clicked on "Backup")...
