Today I tried my very first filter with DVD-RB Pro. It worked!!! But I wonder if the resulting titleset is going to play w/set-top DVD players. I know, why not spend 40 cents and see; well, I'm cheap, but more importantly already I see that it doesn't play w/one of my PC players, PowerDVD 5.0.
Here's what I did:
1. Made a DVD titleset using NeroVision Express from an HDTV program
2. That transport stream oddly had a white line along the bottom; therefore so do the NVE-created VOBs
3. I got the bright idea to re-make the titleset using RB and the "autocrop" filter; this worked!!! (got rid of the line) but...
4. The resulting VOBs are now 704x464 not 720x480 (I used HC 0.16 and autocrop(mode=0,wMultof=16,hMultof=16,bottomadd=4)). I had to put-in the Multof parameters to make HC happy.
So--is my VIDEO_TS ok despite the non-standard resolution? Or was my crop filter setup wrong? Or did I go about this wrong to begin with? Maybe I should have cropped the 1920x1088 file up-front, but I don't know what tools I would use to do that. I looked at VdubMod but I can't even see the cropping buttons in the huge preview window (again 1920x1088). What to do.
