I'm sorry to say this but I tried to compress a DVD 'Cirque Du Soleil' which has a main movie (largest VTS) with 4 angles. Only some parts of the main movie do have them really used.

The original DVD (after being ripped with DVDD) to HD, plays just fine.

You can switch angles at all time, but there really happens something in the parts (acts) of the movie where the angles are really used with own exclusive video material (other Camera recording)

If you switch these multi-angle parts:

a) It takes a moment for the DVD player to switch.
b) After that moment, the switching is done without picture disturbance and without sound interruption to a real other camera perspective.

So that's no problem.

The DVD isn't preprocessed in any way !!!

But after compressing it with DVD-REBUILDER-PRO (and seeing DVD-RB detecting the multi angles) the output is wrong concerning angle switching...

This happens when you switch on a real multi angle part (4 total angles, 3 extra angles) on a REAL dvd-player and even with POWER-DVD:

1) After swtiching an angle, there is a brief moment of waiting.
2) When the switch occurs, there is an image disturbance, having a lot of blocks in it (looks like switching to a B or P frame, not an I-frame !!!).
3) Sound is interrupted and skipped.

This happens with an original non-preprocessed DVD that has no special copy protection at all and was processed by DVD-RB-PRO V1.01(final).

So still bugs in DVD-RB-PRO.

Sorry to say.

But I've have red a lot of problems in the past concerning ILVU and multi-angle issues.

It's still not working on my 4 angle (3 extra angles) DVD.

The output size is perfectly correct (to my CCE_targetsectors setting).

I use (as you may have already noticed) CCE SP 2.67.x.x.

I don't use AVISYNTH filters.

I do use VERY LOW BITRATE matrix, but this doesn't make a difference.

Even the easy simple DVDSHRINK 3.2, as low-quality transcoder based compression tool, delivers a result that works !!!

Probably the way DVD-RB works it's maybe more complex, but it should also work and it doens't, even having (Final) on it !

So there are no runtime errors, the output is sized correctly, but the multi-angling is corrupted in whatever way....

Of course I tried more than just once........ Even on different systems....

Too many exclamation marks for my liking. When reporting an issue with any piece of software (that is written in our own time btw) please try and be a little more courteous. Have you investigated the problem yourself, and found the source of the problem? This would give jdobbs somewhere to focus his attention.

As has been said more times than i can remember, comparing to shrink is pointless. Shrink is a transcoder so everything is identical as per the original.

Now help jdobbs to help you!

No more ! :)

Nope I can't give any more information as only that the source:

1) Is NOT preprocessed.
2) I really don't know how MA is implemented on low level.
3) I'm sure it is a DVD-RB-PRO problem, as it should keep the original structure too as this is always claimed. Wrong source=Wrong output.

4) The source is OK. (Tried a piece on my real DVD-player, just deleting cells with DVD-REMAKE-PRO).

5) The original DVD plays fine at my mothers place.

6) De DVD has 4 angles in some acts.

7) See DVD-RB-PRO detect ILVU/MA , but the output is always wrong in the way descibed above.

It'seems to be some synchronisation problem.

The disc is difficult in a way there are 4 angles not just 2.

Maybe please post a screenshot of the cell table on the original and after DVDRB. Do this in PgcEdit's PGC Editor. This way, we can see the exact nature of the angle issue.

Regards

I've PGCEDIT but please give any more details on what you wanna see exactly.

I will make the captures and attach them as JPG's ...

Load the DVD in PgcEdit. Find the movie title. Double click on it. Bottom right "quadrant" (really most of the screen) you'll see a cell table showing all sorts of info, including angle info.

Easier still is to run an Info - PGC: this creates a text file which you can attach. Do one for the original and one for the processed please.
