I have used DVD-RB with CCE 2.67 trial and it worked well.

Then I wanted to convert a HDTV clip to DVD to be able to listen to the 5.1 sound track, so I downloaded the latest DVD2SVCD that should be able to handle resizing without problems. I never got that to work with EclCCE + CCE 2.67, so I followed people's advice and reverted to CCE 2.50.01 and got it to work.

The problem is when I now want to reconfigure DVD Rebuilder to work with this CCE.

* According to people at the DVD2SVCD forum, CCE 2.50 doesn't need EclCCE.
* According to EclCCE info, that program only supports CCE 2.66+2.67.
* According to DVD Rebuilder configuration program, CCE 2.50 needs EclCCE...

What gives?

CCE 2.5 doesn't need EclCCE, 2.6-branch does. 2.7 again doesn't.

I checked reconfiguring DVD-RB and it installed EclCCE for CCE 2.50. 2.50 works, as you also confirmed, with DVD2SVCD without EclCCE. Either 2.50 works both with and without EclCCE, or DVD-RB never uses the EclCCE it installs. No matter, things now seem to work on both fronts :)

For CCE SP 2.50...DVD-RB and just about everything else you need EclCCE but you don't need it for DVD2SVCD... it's does it's own thing like EclCCE for all ver of CCE SP.

EclCCE has two main functions:
- it allows to open .ecl files with the 2.6x trial versions
- it allows commandline parameters for CCE 2.50.01
DVD-RB needs EclCCE to use CCE 2.50, because it uses its commandline facility.

Anyway:
ALWAYS FOLLOW THE GUIDE.

Thanks, I just didn't want to make a fix for DVD2SVCD that broke DVD Rebuilder. :)
