hello all,

im looking for a program the could show me the line from the original .SUP and i will translate it, and at the end save it to a .SUP format (or just .sub\.str and then just use Txt2Sup or something..)

ho and another thing... how could i sync the subtitles with the demuxed DVD? i mean i got .m3v, .ac3 and a .str\.sub.. i use BSplayer to load the 3, but the video is sync with the audio, and i could only sync by hearing (the audio is sync with the subtitle) is there a program other then BSPlayer i could use for that? (i just load the 3 and see wether the subs sync..)

thanks in advance, Kitt0s.

It is not easy at that point:
SUP format is a 'graphic-based' subtitle format used mainly by IfoEdit, ReJig and Muxman. For edit it (it means in 'text-mode') you need to reconvert it to a script plus lots of BMP files with a command-line utility called DVDSupDecode.exe indise the pack 'DVD Subtitle tool' from Frantisek Kasparek's HomePage (http://web.quick.cz/FKasparek).
Once you have this script (in microDVD format: .sub + bitmaps) you have to convert it to SON format with Subrip (http://zuggy.wz.cz). Then you have to use a tool called SON2VOBSUB from http://www.anime.cz/s2v to convert this son + bitmpas to VobSub (idx+sub file). This VobSub file then have to be passed by an OCR program such SuBRip (http://zuggy.wz.cz) or SubOCR (http://dark.pluridis.org/downloads/SubOCR.zip). These programs after some (or many users interactions) convert graphic-based subtitle to text based-subtitle (microDVD .sub or SUbRip text .srt formats). Finally these text-based subtitles are editable by Subtitle WorkShop (http://www.urusoft.net/downloads.php?lang=1). Now you can change text and save again (in microDVD or SubRip format). Now you can Use the know application 'Subtitle Creator' from (https://sourceforge.net/projects/subtitlecreator/) to convert to 'graphic-type' SUP format again
That's all ..... (not a bit)

Note taht Subtitle Creator can 'synchronize' your subtitles (text based vs SUP one)

You can't directly.
Please, read ....
1. You have to convert to script + bitmaps with dvdsupdecode
2. Convert this to SON format with subrip
3. convert SON to VOBSUB with SON2VOBSUB
4. Make an OCR with SubRip or SubOCR.

Subtitle Creator has a SUP-mode where you can look at a subpicture stream (.sup) from a demux:ed VOB. It can also synchronize new subtitle-lines with an existing sup. The resulting subtitle can then be saved to a new sup-file. Use the guides. It also has a "wizard" for creating a simple DVD with the new subtitle but I haven't tried it. Use the guides and manual.

@Jalavera: nice collection of links, but could you please re-edit your post and remove the parethesis from within the URLs? Half of them include the ")" and throw "404"s on the target site.
Thanks.

SubRip now supports OCR directly from bitmap sequences that DVDSupDecode outputs, no need to go the .idx/.sub route.

Just open the subrip file (.srt) with SubRip and then save to 'Maestro SON' format. That's all
