Hi

I tried to encode my dreambox recodings (TS files) with VirtualDub, but it said file format is not supported.
How to let it accept these files?

thanks

Convert them from .ts to MPEG elementary streams by using ProjectX. As a side effect, possible errors in the stream will be corrected during this process.
And you need VirtualDunMOD, the original VirtualDub is not able to read MPEG2.

You can also use VirtualDub MPEG2 (by fccHandler) after creating the MPG file.

Another option which avoids having to convert with ProjectX is DGMPGDec.

I never tried to convert .ts-files directly. What if the stream has errors? Can DGMPEGDec handle them (as ProjectX can)?

thanks for the answers, I will try and see.
About using ProjectX, is it any way better than PVAStrumento?

I use dgindex for TS files then use the d2v file in vdubmod. Works great. You can also use hdtv2mpeg2 to create mpg from ts. With this you can also cut out commercials. Then open the mpeg in dgindex and proceed as normal.

There are several 'Must Have' apps for TS files -

DGIndex - 'Nuff Said

MPEG2Repair - Great at fixing 'broken' TS files.

ProjectX - (install the compiled version from here - http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=101194 ) Much better than PVAStrumento for Transport Stream files.

MPG2Cut2

AC3 Cutter and/or AC3 Delay Corrector
