Hy guys,
this is my first post and first of all I want to thanks everybody for the lot of useful information and guides I find in this forum.
Working on Shrek R2 I try to skip the starting language selection menu with jump2pcg to start directly with the main menu (I follow 2COOL guide for jump2pgc).
Testing the results with winDVD everything is ok but on my 4:3 TV the menu’s highlight are completely out of place: the menu background has a 16:9 AR (the menu of the original DVD fit the whole screen) while the subpic looks as they were in a 4:3 AR.
I checked the stream characteristics with pgcedit and I find a situation similar to the one reported by Taelon in this treat (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=100556): the menu looks 16:9 in a software player, the stream attributes report it as 16:9 automatic pan&scan but the menu preview say that it is 4:3.
I suppose that jumping to the main menu, something happens to it so that automatic pan&scan does not work anymore.
To verify this hypothesis I only replaced the main movie with a short part of it (I reauthored and cut the movie with DVDShrink and replaced it to the main movie with pgcedit) so to maintain menu and to make as few changes as possible to the original structure. Then I tested it either maintaining the language selection menu or jumping it. The results confirm my idea: leaving the language selection menu everything is ok on my TV (pan& scan background and subpics in the right place) while when I jump it to start directly with the main menu all the subpics maintain a 4:3 AR while the background is displayed in 16:9 AR.
Do anybody experienced something like this? How can I fix it? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
mapi
