for vertical limit, my first trial,
whatever use of clad or smartripper or dvd decrypter, it works but i get a movie with only us language and no subtitle

i am using powerdvd and ifoedit tells me there is more than basics in ifo file (4 channels language, 4 subtitles)

do somebody have an idea ? it is a shame especially for a non-us speaking guy : i want to keep choice of language and subtitle.

obviously, if i run powerdvd on the disc directly, it is fine, i have the choices but not on ripped files !

thanks in advance

There is no Softwareplayer which is able to handle ripped movies.
I'm not sure, but maybe PowerDVD XP is able to play DVDs from HD. Start the program, choose the option "Open DVD File from Harddisk" or something like that and mark the *.ifo File.
Try this, its the only possibility how it could work.

i can rip DVD's with SmartRipper 2.40 in movie mode and then play the vob's through PowerDVD without a problem. you have to go into "file" mode, not "disc" mode on Power DVD to play the ripped vob's though.

edit: i'm running win2k.

on SmartRipper, it says that it rips everything: video, audio, and subtitles. however, when i try to display the subs on PowerDVD, that option is grayed out.

what's going on? did SmartRipper rip the subtitles or not?

i tried to use VobSub to create a subtitles file, but it didn't work.

is this a ripping problem?????? is this a VobSub problem????? it's definitely my problem!!:(

SmartRipper is able to rip everything you want to rip. Its not a ripping problem, its a problem of playback. And i already provided a possible solution, but nobody cares about :(
