I realise this could very well be an issue concerning my computer and not GK itself, but I figured maybe there are files needed for GK which (for some strange reason) have been deleted from my computer, or anything else. Just maybe you guys can help me out.

Whenever I start GK it shows the usual arrow with a hour-glass next to it, but only for about 1-2 seconds, then nothing happens anymore. I tried to look at the Taskmonitor; sometimes an extra process is started when I start GK, sometimes this does not happen.
So GK crashes, but why?

(btw, a few weeks ago GK still ran ok)

I already tried to do a new install, but that didn't help.

What Operating System are you using ?
Have you installed ,updated or uninstalled any programs recently ?

If running Win XP is there anything in the Event Viewer log which gives some more information ?

When you tried a reinstall, did you first uninstall AGK and Xvid ?

I am running WinXP SP2

Come to think of it, Adaware didn't work as well suddenly. I uninstalled it because I do not use it anymore anyway.

If you want to install GK over an old one it automatically removes the old install, so yes I uninstalled GK before (I do not use AGK but GK).

I'll check the event log, just a min'

Edit: DCOM seems to create an entry, but not everytime I try to start GK. (System error: Application errors do not appear)

Plus, I do not know exactly which programs I installed/uninstalled the past days (I tried out quite a few) but these I can remember, that could matter:
-ImgBurn (by LightningUK!)
-ffdshow 30-9
-Haali Media Splitter (the newest)
-mkvtoolnix
-SpywareBlaster
-Windows Media Encoder

Edit2: my god, Paintshop Pro8 stopped working as well (again a DCOM entry)

Sounds like you have something significant wrong with your system.

Sorry, late at night I thought I'd read you were using AGK - I must read more carefully when I'm tired.
