I made a AVI format copy of a few of my DVD's and burned them on to DVD-R discs, but now my DVD drive can't read them and whenever I try and make a new copy by converting the original again, it doesn't work either. Can somebody help me?

We're going to need a lot more information than "it doesn't work either" in order to help. Does that mean you can't even re-encode the same DVD's you had encoded before, or will the new encodes not play? Are there any errors, and if so, what are they exactly? Did you run GSpot on them to make sure your codecs are still properly installed?

I'm not really sure how these programs operate so I can't be extremely specific. I just downloaded GSpot v2.21, but I'm not really sure how to use it.

Did you try at all? Open GSpot and click File > Open... and select a problematic file, or right-click a problematic file and select Open with... > Choose Program, and find and select GSpot Codec Information Appliance. Do not check "Always use the selected program to open this type of file."

To my previous questions you have not supplied any answer at all. If you want help, you must supply the requested information. Would you call up your doctor and ask "why is my foot this strange color?" and not answer his question of "what color is it?"

Okay. I have to format all files to AVI so I can run them through Windows Movie Maker on my computer. So far this has worked out and I was able to reformat three dvd's and then burn them onto DVD-R discs. At first they were working and I was able to use the clips in vids, but for some reason when I put one of these DVD discs into the DVD drive the computer doesn't register it as having been put in and doesn't read the info on the disc. I tried putting the file on my computer and just using it from there, but everytime I tried to play a clip in WMM the program would slow down and sometimes crash. I tried talking to HP and Microsoft to see if it was a problem with my computer of WMM itself, but I got driver updates and they couldn't think of anything that could be causing the problem.

Do you need any more info? (not sarcastic)

It sounds like it may be a corrupt disk. Try re-encoding a DVD file the way you did before and "run it through" WMM. Also run GSpot on one and make sure there are no problems indicated (it should display audio and video codecs and say whether or not the file can be played). You may also try DivXRepair 1.0.1 (http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/DivXRepair-Download-14597.html) which might fix the files if it is a corruption problem.

Oh yeah, and stop having people choke you until you black out. Each time it kills millions of brain cells which are permanently lost, plus you risk hemorrhaging, blood clots, strokes and seizures, any of which can lead to permanent paralysis or death.

This doesn't seem to have anything to do with AGK. I'm moving this to PC SW/HW forum.
