View Full Version : 'MeGUI x264 edition' cmdline not updated properly ?

Seems like one of the late versions of MeGUI x264 edition (maybe full version too ? - haven't tested extensively) doesn't update the cmdline properly ?

Example : when setting the --subme combobox, the --subme value remains "1" (instead of 5 or 6)

Other example : when you check the "all" preset from the combobox in the analysis section (4x4, etc...), --analyse stays to "--analyse none" (it remains "none" whatever boxes are checked for that mater :/)

And those are only 2 examples among a lot of other features not working correctly last time I tried (I had to stick to batch CLI yesterday : that was quite dispointing, lol)

With all the other settings that I wanted to use (and the power of my laptop), I shouldn't have gone over a cheap 5fps : but reached 15fps ! (there is obviously a problem here :p)

Dunno if it was fixed in the last version, I just downloaded x264-293-install.exe from x264.nl and used the version from there (that includes MeGUI x264 edition).

let me guess.. you have turbo checked? MeGUI is strictly "what you see is what you get", so if turbo is checked, you'll see the effects of turbo (and that is to force certain values, like --subme 1 and --analyse none).

quite true, after further reflexion ... :P
Though I though actually turbo standed for "Fast 1st pass" ...
I'll try again without the turbo option =)

thx ^^

Will those options ever be greyed out when turbo's checked? They obviously don't affect functionality at all, just to prevent threads like this.

Edit: Turbo is "fast first pass"; a very fast pass is what you get when you force some of these options off. =p

Did you _Just_ download x264-293-install.exe from x264.nl or you did mean just installed it?
The reason i ask is, because on x264.nl there is x264-295-install.exe.
(unless you browse in old versions, the newest version is on the main page)

The reason for all this: 21-09-05: MeGUI-x264 0.2.2.5 added (new 295), meaning always check for the latest version, and follow its thread:
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=98032

So yes, always test last version too, and read the thread about the commandline (if more questions about it may occure)

Will those options ever be greyed out when turbo's checked?let me think about this. subq is no problem, profiles are not as straightforward (and they influence the mb options).
