I recently tried encoding using x264 & I'm quite new to this! I tried encoding some FMVs of FFX coz their small in size & its its easy to judge for its quality!!!
And I have to admit that x264 is amazing!!! Probably & hopefully the next xvid in the mp4 category.

But my only problem is playback using the latest ffdshow decoder w/ h.264 in it. It seems like in certain scenes where it stops or jerks 4 a couple of seconds & kinda get annoying! Can anyone help me w/ this?

Try using MPlayer or use other options to encode (theres a thread where Bond tested different options for decoding performance) :search:

Hey kris2pe, which is the software that you use to encode x264? I still can't figure out how to proceed...
