I've decided to make some small tests with VP7, x264, xvid and theora in very low bitrates (640x336 - 300 kbps)! My source was the "Robots" movie! I wanted to see how good can these codecs work in a 3d animation movie. After some tests I decided to remove the xvid and theora screenshots from the competition, because the results were terrible with these 2 codecs, especially with theora!!! So I am going to post only the VP7 (7.0.8.0) and x264 (293) screenshots!
I used 2-pass encoding!
Here are the settings:

x264 (http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/1774/x26425to.png)
I didn't use any postprocessing with x264!
I tried to set the best settings in VP7's decoder filter so that I can have the best possible result!
MY conclusion:
As you can see, x264 is much better than VP7, at least in this 3d animation movie! x264 can keep more detail than VP7!
A VERY BIG THANKS to all the people who work in x264! :D :D Keep up the good work! You are the BEST!!! :D :D :D ;)
