I need a bed frame for an extra-long twin sized mattress. Ideally the bed will have a shelf by my head and lots of drawers underneath and be fairly high up (3-4 feet even).
It should have the same feature as this:

But only for a twin extra long And the selfs should be such that you can store stuff in them and put a clip on lamp on (I probably won't have a night stand)
Any help would be great... I can't seem to find it for the life of me and school is starting real soon.

lol, originality on doom9 :D It's all about the money. Depends on how much you're to spend on this. Personally I think that most often combo-furniture or "functional furniture" often looks butt-ugly, which I also think that bed does (sorry ;)). IKEA got some nice solutions on storage if you're looking for cheap stuff... but why do you have to have it all under the bed?

There's a weekend project. Buy some wood and build it.

Look through the for sale pages (local paper, ad mags) for an old water bed with a drawer pedestal. Full size would be best. Put the drawer section together (removing the center spacer section) throw some plywood on top (home depot and lowes will cut plywood to your measurements) add a matress and you are on your way. Headboard could be a minor problem possibly solved by your local Salvation Army thrift store or Goodwill. Use your imagination. This type of furniture is easy to assemble or make from scratch. I made two single beds from two sheets of 5/8" plywood with two drawers (each bed) for two of my sons (they are hard on my furniture). They hold up beautifully. Completely assembled with wood screws. All of the wood cuts were done at the home depot (I didn't want to buy a table saw). Good Luck.
