Cynthia says about this movie:
"There are some sectors on your DVD that DVD Decrypter ver 3.5.4.0 can't read due to the fact that the original DVD have a form of copy protection using unreadable sectors that will show up as CRC errors (=read errors - your reader/burner can't read the sectors).
To get those sectors over to your hard disk - they are replaced with dummies (empty sectors/space). The PSL file tells DVD Decrypter where to insert those dummies."
But a demuxing problem appears when you use DGindex 144b4.
I have a total 14676 ms A/V desynchro.
What's the issue?

I don't know who Cynthia is, and I can't help you without a stream.

you may want to consider ripping in pgc mode and deselecting any chapter/cells that are part of the protection.. the would be in the first few cells. (even if you already ripped it and are working from an iso) .. if you are not sure how to do this or need help choosing which cells to choose from .. paste the contents of the ifo summary in ifoedit here.
if its something that dgindex could compensate for that would be great, but im not sure that it could as the ifo information is erroneous but dvd playback skips the bad cells, and resyncs at the cell boundary.

Really surprised to be the only one to report this problem!
This is the original structure after ripping in PGC mode by DVDdecrypter:

I used DVD Decrypter with AnyDVD to rip that movie, no problem.
Using the latest DVD43 v.3.6.2 you may be able to rip it in conjunction with DVDD.
On a side note, I wasted my money on that movie, it was not very good. It had an insipid plot line IMHO.

yeah.. i think the reason many people have not seen that issue is since no new movies have been worth buying. ;)
thanks for the tip on the rip issue.

Closer R2 has different ARccOS for various Eu countries - the Dutch version seemed to give the most trouble.
You could get rid of the first 24 cells without a problem (rip in IFO mode). These will probably be the ARccOS sectors. Keep the angles when you rip (I'm not sure which angle in Chapter 1 and 7 belongs to your market). You can watch and see (it has to do with people typing over an instant messenger system in the film and the angles correspond to different languages).
PS I agree with feedback re the plot :)

I would say that ripping is not the problem.
The .m2v seems to be corrupted by the dummies sectors added by DVDD.
So, the A/V desynchro mentionned by DGIndex is wrong even if you correct the delay
through Ifoedit (limited to+-5000ms).
I'm able to mux those streams but only with DVDlab. So, A/V synchro can be done manually but it is a liitle bit hard to do!

@freelock7
If your desired goal regarding this DVD is to create an .AVI file, you might want to experiment with the following procedure:
A) Use DVD Decrypter v.3.54 to rip to your hard drive in "FILE MODE" - and from the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "All files" (NOT "movie files"), as follows:
1) Change the setting to ignore read errors and also set read error retries to zero.
2) Rip the DVD.
3) Save the log list.
4) Export the PSL file and save it.
5) Open up the PSL file in a text editor and keep the first row starting with '0:'.
6) The row that start with '1:' - insert the range that was reported in the log file as 'Failed to read sector'. Delete the rest of the rows.
7) Save the PSL file.
8) Import the PSL file you have edited.
9) Rip the DVD.
B) Use "Smartripper", in "Movie Mode" to extract and save the appropriate still-multiplexed Program Chain (from the hard drive files)
C) Use MPEG Mediator to create your initial .AVI - Play it to see if it's synchronized
D) If it's synchronized, use VirtualDub (or any of its derivatives) to eliminate any "dead space" (Should only be at the beginning of the file)

I tried today <Spanglish> which has the same problem with DGindex. the .d2v has a wrong timeline because the .ac3 is correctly demuxed but the video is encoded with the first blank dummies sectors.
DVDD, ANYDVD, DVDFab and DVD43 use the same process that DGindex cannot understand-for the moment.

After ripping "Spanglish" with DVD Decrypter (in "File Mode", select "All files", NOT "movie files"), did you (as I previously suggested) try the following?:
A) Use "Smartripper", in "Movie Mode" to extract and save the appropriate still-multiplexed Program Chain (from the hard drive files)
B) Use MPEG Mediator to create your initial .AVI - Play it to see if it's synchronized
C) If it's synchronized, use VirtualDub (or any of its derivatives) to eliminate any "dead space" (Should only be at the beginning of the file)

Not yet but if you use DVDD, automatically, dummies are inserted to replace bad sectors-always in the beginning of the movie (imagine this in the center of the movie!!-a nightmare!).

Yes - And if you try what I've suggested, you should be able to eliminate that problem AFTER using DVDD...

OK!
Tested with <7 seconds> (arcoos protected).
The PGC with the PSL file modified is able to be used by DGindex without A/V desynchro.
Issue found.
